Right!

So you get a job in SEO without knowing anything about it!

It really gives a warm fuzzy feeling about the quality of "outsourced SEO" doesn't it???

Yes, there are some ok SEOs back here, and are training us here. We are told to research and do some basic building about the subject. Again my company has a policy "no-to-hire-from-competitors", so they believe in hiring and training fresh candidates. So I just got lucky. Again, what do you think a first level SEO candidate should know apart from Internet?

I hope I get some inputs. I already got some from other forums. I will surely share that over my blog.

*shiver*

Frankly your company is very inefficient :p

A company which hires someone who has no previous knowledge on a subject frankly is just plain stupid.
While the idea of taking someone and training them from scratch, its just silly i mean why pay someone who doesn't know anything about what they are being paid to do?!

Well I myself have ranked 5 keywords, since the time I join. But yes, again I really do not know what I did and how I did that, as I did all that my Mentors asked me to do.. So, how you say it's really stupid?? Again, I am being taught many things which are just great.

Any way I was searching for a job, I got one and am happy. I am doing something I liked to do.

Stupid or not, only time will tell the story.

Hi Dan Smile

It's not so much that you have a job and some training.

It's the fact that you are given a title of "SEO Executive" while knowing nothing about SEO.

At the end of the day it's just a con to make the unsuspecting clients think they have somebody working on their site that is knowledgable about SEO. Instead they have a newbie who doesn't actually know where to start.

Yea that was more what i was getting at, i mean if they really wanna train a total noobie fine but like if they gonna get you to do anything for a client it should be as a assistant like training on the job not as the person doing the job if that makes sense.

Seo is s process to optimize a website to get high result in SERP. To get started study website then make a list of keyword related to your targeted service and product. Put your most important keywords in title, description and in body contents.
