I own a directory and I was wondering - How to get more visitors for a directory? All the visitors are people submitting their websites, how to get visitors that are actually searching for something and not just submitting their site?

Hi i have been to your directory and to be honest there is nothing there that would want me to come back the home page is full of adsense.

To make people use your directory you need content, news reviews and other items of interest updated regularly, quality links to websites

Make sure you only accept fully working none adsense sites then you will have a directory that does actually have good quality sites to visit. Then people might get to know that by visiting your directory they are only going to get results to good sites,

Then they will keep coming back, unlike Google that is just full of all sorts of crap but hey look at them ,millions of visitors every day, so what do i know Confused

Question. Is there anything interesting or unique about your directory ???

Answer. No. it's yet another PHP Links directory thrown together and stuffed with adsense.

there is nothing about it to seperate it from the thousands of other thrown together offerings by just about every other "We'll have a directory, charge for links and watch the money pile up" wannabes around.

Well apart from the MySql errors of course, not many have those.
