Many webmasters are struggling to get a good revenue from Google Adsense or whatever similar program on their forum , that’s due to one of the following reasons that I’m going to discuss here :

1-Wrong ad placements.
2-The look and color of the ads.
3-Guests cannot see the ads.

The first point above is the most common mistake that webmasters make , because the placement of your Ads is the key to success , therefore when you place your Ads wrongly or in somehow bothering the visitors you won’t get any good from it , so here is what you can do :-
A)Using Google Setup (In your Google Adsense Account) edit the Ads colors and make them looking very close and relevant to your forum’s skin and after you get your code (The ads html code) I recommend to put it into the center part of your forum’s header and nothing else besides it as if you place something besides it , it will effect the visitor’s attention , in that way everyone gets into the forum sees it.
B)The majority of online communities use Vbulletin as a web software due to its great support and nice performance so there is a great hack on http://www.vbulletin.org called vB Ad Management by RedTyger that allows you to place your Ads everywhere you wish (Header,Footer,Threads,Posts.etc) easily so get it as we you’ll use it later. From my experience I’ve found out that the 2nd ads key placement is under every last post , because your visitor’s most attention is on the quality posts and not somewhere else , therefore use that hack to place your ads in every last post, in that way you will get more clicks as every ads is targeted to the information in that post.

I recommend to set guests to view everything on the forum but not to post or download something , because if they liked what they read , they may register and start posting , if not they will move on to a relevant site by clicking on the ads since they are relevant to the subject they were reading, and I’m sure that will bring more revenue.

Earning Money from a community is much harder than earning from a website or a blog , because the visitors attention is always on the topics because they just keep focusing on what the poster wrote and not on anything else , BUT ! If you do what I’ve wrote above I’m sure you will earn more as I’ve myself tested that and now I’m reporting it to the World just to let the other people learn and be happy.
